Charlotte de Witte is a Belgian DJ and producer born July 21, 1992, in Ghent, who built one of techno's most formidable international careers by keeping her sound relentlessly dark, stripped-back, and uncompromising since she began performing in Ghent's underground scene in 2010. Her acid techno and minimal techno sets — defined by industrial percussion, hypnotic layering, and sustained peak-time tension — won her Best Techno DJ at the 2019 DJ Awards and placed her at #9 in DJ Mag's 2025 Top 100 DJs poll, the first time she entered the top ten. In 2022, she became the first woman ever to close the main stage at Tomorrowland, one of the most symbolically significant achievements in electronic music's recent history. She founded the KNTXT and Époque record labels, releasing music that regularly charts on Beatport's techno listings while maintaining full creative and commercial independence. Her self-titled debut full-length album, released in 2025 on KNTXT, is a 70-minute, 11-track statement of artistic intent that expanded her discography from high-profile remixes and EPs into long-form album work.
