Dark, intimate underground energy with multiple rooms for different sounds — the original Drai's vibe restored. Hip-hop in one room, house in another, hookah lounge as the chill-out zone. More focused and immersive than the rooftop era, where the outdoor environment imposed a ceiling on the bass response and the show competed with the Strip skyline for attention. Underground, the sound system takes over completely and the crowd orientation shifts inward toward the DJ and the dance floor rather than outward toward a view. The multi-room format creates a constant sense of discovery — the energy in the hip-hop room at 1 AM is completely different from the electronic room at the same time, and moving between the two resets the experience without requiring a venue change. The hookah lounge functions as a decompression zone: lower volume, seated, a space to hold a conversation or plan the next move without stepping outside. The Wednesday industry night crowd knows the venue intimately — less performative than weekends, more socially fluid, and the kind of room where you are more likely to talk to strangers and less likely to be in a group that stays rigidly at one table all night.

Mandalay Bay

Daylight Beach Club built its reputation on a programming philosophy that deliberately broke from the EDM monoculture that dominated Las Vegas dayclubs during the 2010s. While Encore Beach Club, Marquee, and Wet Republic (now Palm Tree Beach Club) leaned heavily into electronic dance music, Daylight positioned itself as the open-format daytime party — equally comfortable booking Kygo or TroyBoi in the afternoon and Ice Cube or Pusha T at night. This made Daylight's crowd genuinely different: more diverse in age, music preference, and cultural background than its north-Strip counterparts. A Daylight Saturday in peak season meant Miami Bass might open the afternoon set, a tech-house resident might hold the early headliner slot, and a hip-hop heavyweight might close the Eclipse nighttime event — all at the same venue, from 11 AM to 4 AM. The south Strip location amplified the difference. Mandalay Bay sits at the southern anchor of the Las Vegas Boulevard corridor, roughly 1.5 miles from Caesars Palace and 2 miles from the Wynn complex. That distance translated to meaningfully lower rideshare fares from mid-Strip hotels, a less congested weekend pedestrian experience, and cover charges that ran $10–$20 below equivalent north-Strip events throughout much of Daylight's run. For budget-conscious visitors who still wanted a full-production pool party experience with DJ headliners, Daylight was the clear answer. The Eclipse nighttime series was the venue's most culturally significant programming innovation. Ibiza nightswim parties — where the pool remains open and guests swim during live DJ sets after dark — were virtually unknown in Las Vegas when Daylight introduced its Eclipse concept. The warm desert evenings made the format natural: long after the sun set and the daytime crowd thinned, the Mandalay Bay pool illuminated under production lighting with a completely transformed atmosphere. Subsequent nightswim programming at Encore Beach Club and elsewhere in Las Vegas owes a conceptual debt to what Daylight established with Eclipse in its early years.
