Who Is DJ Tennis?
Manfredi Romano — performing as DJ Tennis — built his career from behind the scenes in Italy before emerging as a DJ in his own right in 2010. He spent years tour-managing punk and post-rock acts and organizing left-field electronic events in Italy before completing computer science studies at the University of Pisa and founding DAZE, Italy's first booking agency devoted exclusively to electronic music. In 2010 he co-founded Life and Death — the label responsible for breaking Tale of Us, Mind Against, and Carlita — with Greg Oreck, establishing a release catalog that draws on post-rock, techno, and house to produce what DJ Mag has described as intricately synthesized electronic music with unusual conceptual depth. Since 2017, Romano has co-founded and curated Rakastella, a music festival he stages during Art Basel Miami in collaboration with Innervisions — one of the most culturally credentialed electronic music events in the US calendar. His EDC Las Vegas 2026 neonGARDEN booking on Night 1 (May 15) featured a back-to-back set with Chloé Caillet as part of the Time Warp stage takeover.
