About Flux Pavilion

Flux Pavilion, born Joshua Kiekegaard Grant Steele on 15 January 1989, is an English dubstep producer, DJ, singer-songwriter, and label co-founder whose career spans more than fifteen years at the centre of the bass music world. He co-founded Circus Records in 2009 with Doctor P, Simon Swan, and Earl Falconer, establishing a label that became one of the most significant release platforms in the early development of dubstep as a commercial genre. His first release came at 19 years old, and over the following decade he built a production catalogue that included two sold-out performances at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, a UK top-10 chart hit in collaboration with grime MC Sway, and a placement in the DJ Mag Top 100 list — a range of commercial achievements that extended his audience well beyond the bass music underground. His track 'I Can't Stop' entered the cultural mainstream when Kanye West and Jay-Z sampled it on their 2011 Watch the Throne album, a crossover moment that introduced his production to a hip-hop audience orders of magnitude larger than the dubstep circuit and cemented the track as a cultural artefact within electronic music history.
