His Relief Records imprint, launched in 1993, became the home for Green Velvet — his neon-green-mohawked acid house and tech house alter ego whose Flash (1995) became a number-one US dance hit and whose Answering Machine became a cult artifact of mid-1990s Chicago house comedy. His catalog under both names encompasses some of the defining recordings of the Chicago house scene across three decades, and his continued presence as a live touring act confirms his status as a working musician rather than a legacy act.
