Beginning with his first turntables at age 15, with early influences drawn from the London techno scene — particularly Carl Cox — Carola became a pivotal figure in bridging Mediterranean club culture with the industrial techno sound coming from Germany and the UK. He has founded multiple labels including Design, Zenit, Question, One Thousands, Do.Mi.No., and Music On, and in 2011 launched Music On as a party series whose Amnesia Ibiza residency from 2012 through 2018 became one of the island's defining Friday night events — immersive, stripped-back techno built around marathon-length sets and a minimal staging approach that focused listener attention entirely on the music.
