Restricted, the stage name of Rhys Sfyrios, is an Australian DJ and producer born 11 December 1999 in Adelaide, South Australia, of Greek descent, who has rapidly built one of hard techno's most engaged international audiences in an unusually short timeframe. His entry into electronic music came through family: his mother's 1990s music and his older brothers' pre-drinks playlists introduced him to dance music informally before he ever approached it professionally, creating a listening foundation that preceded any formal production or DJ training. He began DJing first and moved into production approximately a year later, developing a sound that blends elements from psy, rawstyle, industrial, hardcore, and hard techno into a synthesis that does not reduce cleanly to any single subgenre — a deliberate genre-fluid approach that has helped him build a cross-demographic audience within the hard dance community.
