World Party Parade

World Party Parade 2026 is the first event of its kind in Las Vegas history — a free, all-ages street celebration bringing the energy of the world's greatest dance music parade format to the Las Vegas Strip. On Thursday, May 14 at 6 PM, more than 30 Insomniac art cars roll from the Las Vegas Festival Grounds northbound along the Strip, passing Fontainebleau, Resorts World Las Vegas, and Circus Circus Hotel & Casino before ending near the Stratosphere. Each art car carries a fully loaded sound system and a DJ performing live, surrounded by hundreds of costumed performers, kandi kids, and festival-goers dancing in the street.

The format is directly inspired by Europe's legendary street rave tradition. Berlin's Love Parade ran from 1989 to 2010, drawing up to 1.5 million attendees at its peak and defining the modern concept of a free outdoor techno parade. Zurich's Street Parade has run annually since 1992 and continues to draw 900,000+ people each August. Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella cited both events when announcing World Party, describing it as "bringing people together to celebrate dance music culture right on the Las Vegas Strip through a music parade — something we've dreamed about for a long time."

World Party takes place the night before EDC Las Vegas gates open at the Motor Speedway. For EDC Week 2026, this creates a perfect arc: World Party on Thursday evening provides an outdoor, street-level introduction to the week's energy before attendees transition to nightclubs (the main Strip clubs open 10:30–11 PM the same night), pool parties (Friday through Sunday), and the festival itself (May 15–17 at LVMS). Many attendees use World Party as their arrival moment — landing in Las Vegas Thursday afternoon, experiencing the free parade, then heading to venues like Hakkasan (Charlotte de Witte) or OMNIA (Armin van Buuren) for the nightclub portion of the evening.

The art cars vary in size and musical genre, covering the full spectrum of EDC Week programming: techno, house, trance, bass music, and top-40 electronic. Each car is a mobile DJ booth with professional-grade festival audio gear — the same technology used on the art car stage at LVMS. Performers accompany each car on foot, interacting with the crowd and trading kandi in the street. The procession is estimated to last approximately two and a half hours.

Admission is completely free. There are no tickets, no wristbands, and no age restrictions — World Party is explicitly an all-ages community event. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department closes the relevant Strip lanes for the parade route. Viewing the parade requires no reservation or registration; simply be on the sidewalk or in the designated viewing areas along the route from the Festival Grounds to Circus Circus.

For nightlife context: World Party ends by approximately 8:30–9:00 PM, leaving sufficient time to return to a Strip hotel, change, and line up for EDC Week nightclub openings at 10:30–11:00 PM. The proximity of venues like Hakkasan at MGM Grand, OMNIA at Caesars Palace, and Zouk at Resorts World — all within walking distance of the parade route — makes World Party a natural first event of the EDC Week nightclub circuit.
