About Sasha
Alexander Paul Coe — performing as Sasha — was born September 21, 1969, in Bangor, Wales. He learned to DJ in Manchester's club scene during the late 1980s, securing a residency at The Haçienda and then Shelley's in Stoke-on-Trent, where extended multi-hour bookings shaped his long-set programming approach. DJ Magazine named him World's Number One DJ in 2000. Alongside John Digweed, he co-held the landmark Twilo residency in New York City from 1997 to 2001 and co-released the Northern Exposure compilation series on Ministry of Sound (1996–1997) — the first commercially available document of progressive house at its definitive peak. A Grammy nominee and four-time International Dance Music Awards winner, Sasha was among the first major DJs to perform live using Ableton Live, pioneering the hybrid DJ/live-production format that has since become an industry standard. His Las Vegas appearances at Hakkasan and XS Nightclub bring 35-plus years of continuous evolution to the Strip.
