About the Artist

Who Is Boombox Cartel?

Boombox Cartel is a Los Angeles-based DJ and production duo consisting of Americo Garcia, from Laredo, Texas, and Jorge Medina, from Monterrey, Mexico. The two met while attending high school in Monterrey and later relocated to St. Paul, Minnesota, to study audio engineering and music production at McNally Smith College of Music. After completing their studies they moved to Los Angeles, where the city's multicultural environment and interconnected music scenes provided the creative context for their debut release. Their 2015 self-released single 'B2U,' featuring vocalist Ian Everson, circulated immediately through electronic music networks and drew endorsements from Skrillex, Diplo, and Martin Garrix — three of the most commercially and critically influential figures in the global DJ market. That peer validation accelerated Boombox Cartel's trajectory from an independent act to a signed artist within a year of releasing their first track. They joined Mad Decent, Diplo's Los Angeles–based record label, in 2016. The Mad Decent roster had established itself as the home for bass music, hybrid trap, and genre-blending electronic production, and Boombox Cartel's arrival positioned them within a label ecosystem that included Major Lazer, Dillon Francis, and Flosstradamus — artists whose audiences overlapped directly with the festival trap and future bass markets Boombox Cartel was developing. Their debut EP, Cartel, released in 2017, introduced the tracks 'Alamo' and 'Jefe' — productions built around heavy bass structures, Latin percussion influences, and melodic trap progressions that translated their hometown border-culture backgrounds into a festival-electronic format. Their full-length album Diamond City followed in 2020, a record the duo described as a tribute to the city of Phoenix, Arizona, expanding their sonic palette while maintaining the hybrid trap and future bass foundations their audience had come to expect. Boombox Cartel has performed at Electric Daisy Carnival, Lollapalooza, and other major festival circuits, building a live performance reputation that carries into their Las Vegas residency at Marquee Nightclub and Marquee Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan. Marquee is the flagship venue of Tao Group Hospitality's Las Vegas nightclub and dayclub portfolio, operating in the heart of The Cosmopolitan casino floor, and its programming spans EDM, hip-hop, and bass music across its 60,000-square-foot space. For Boombox Cartel's audiences, their Marquee residency provides access to the duo's high-energy hybrid trap sets in a premium nightclub environment with free entry via NoCoverVegas guest list. Pro Tips

Insider Tips for Seeing Boombox Cartel in Vegas

Arrive Early

Doors open around 10:30 PM, but guest list entry is typically guaranteed until 12:30 AM. For Boombox Cartel shows on Friday or Saturday, arrive by 11:00 PM. The venue fills up fast once the headliner takes the stage, and early arrival gives you the best position on the dance floor.

Dress Code Matters

Vegas nightclub dress code is strictly enforced, even on guest list. Men should wear collared shirts, dress pants or dark jeans, and dress shoes. Women should wear cocktail attire or upscale club wear. No athletic shoes, sandals, or overly casual clothing.

Group Strategy

Guest list works best with an even gender ratio. Groups with more women than men get in faster. All-male groups should consider adding bottle service for guaranteed entry, especially on headliner nights. For groups of 8 or more, contact us directly for VIP packages.

Use the Free Entry

The free entry service saves you $30-50 in rideshare surge pricing on busy nights. Plus, arriving by ride often means a smoother entry experience at the venue. Just mention it when you sign up for the guest list, and we will coordinate pickup from your hotel.
