About Pack Expo Las Vegas

What Is Pack Expo Las Vegas?

Pack Expo Las Vegas is one of the largest packaging and processing trade shows in the world, drawing over 30,000 professionals to the Las Vegas Convention Center for three intensive days of machinery demonstrations, supply chain networking, and technology discovery. Produced by PMMI (The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies), Pack Expo Las Vegas fills the entire LVCC with exhibitors spanning every sector of the global packaging ecosystem — food and beverage packaging lines, pharmaceutical and medical device packaging, cosmetics and personal care, industrial bulk packaging, sustainable materials innovation, and the automation and robotics technology driving the next generation of packaging throughput. The show alternates annually between Chicago (Pack Expo International, even years) and Las Vegas (Pack Expo Las Vegas, odd years). The Las Vegas edition draws a somewhat different attendance profile from Chicago — more western US operations teams, more international buyers from Latin America and Asia-Pacific, and the specific energy of a Las Vegas trade show environment. For three days in mid-September, the LVCC becomes the beating heart of the global packaging supply chain. September in Las Vegas means warm weather (90–100°F during the day), fully active pool party and dayclub season at the major Strip hotels, and evenings that cool into the 70s — ideal conditions for the professional entertainment that Pack Expo attendees typically plan around the show. The LVCC's position at the north end of the Strip puts Resorts World (adjacent and walkable), Wynn (one monorail stop), and The Venetian (one longer walk or two monorail stops) all within easy reach for after-hours dining and nightlife. NoCoverVegas provides free guest list access to every major Strip nightclub, pool party, and gentlemen's club during Pack Expo week — sign up on this page before you arrive.

Badge Pickup & Show Hours

Badge Pickup

Badge pickup and on-site registration is in the LVCC West Hall lobby. Pre-registered attendees can use express badge pickup kiosks by scanning the QR code from their Pack Expo confirmation email — have it ready on your phone before joining the kiosk line. On-site registration requires a paper form and badge staff verification, which can add 20–30 minutes during peak windows. Registration opens the Sunday before the show, typically at noon. Picking up your badge on Sunday afternoon or Monday morning before the show floor opens is strongly recommended — Monday morning registration lines at the LVCC West Hall can be long. Pack Expo registration is open to qualified packaging and processing professionals; the show is not open to the general public. First-time attendees: complete pre-registration online at the Pack Expo website with your company information and industry credentials. Approved attendees receive a confirmation email with a QR code for express kiosk pickup. If you have questions about qualification, contact PMMI directly through the Pack Expo registration portal.

Show Floor Hours

Wednesday, September 1610:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Quick Tips for First-Timers

  • Pack Expo fills the entire Las Vegas Convention Center — a campus that can easily account for 15,000 to 20,000 steps per day. Download the official Pack Expo app before you arrive and plan your daily route by industry segment. Food and beverage, pharma and healthcare, cosmetics, and industrial packaging are in distinct zones. Build a priority list of 8 to 12 must-see exhibitors per day and cluster them geographically to avoid backtracking across the massive floor.
  • The live machinery demonstrations are the single biggest draw at Pack Expo. Full packaging lines running at production speed on the show floor — vertical form-fill-seal machines, cartoners, case packers, labelers, and inspection systems all operating simultaneously — give you a real-world sense of throughput, changeover time, and footprint that no brochure or video can replicate. Block 30 to 45 minutes per major equipment category for live demo observation, and bring a camera or phone to document configurations you want to evaluate further.
  • Schedule meetings with key exhibitors before you arrive. Use the Pack Expo online exhibitor directory to build your appointment calendar. Major equipment manufacturers run their show booths like structured sales meetings — arrive with your production specifications, line speed requirements, and budget range to get immediately actionable conversations. Walk-in visits to high-traffic booths during peak show hours result in queuing and rushed conversations.
  • Bring hearing protection. Some live machinery demonstrations are genuinely loud — cartoners, case packers, and shrink-wrap systems running at full speed generate significant ambient noise in enclosed booth spaces. A pair of foam earplugs in your pocket means you can observe demos comfortably rather than stepping back from the noise.

Getting There

How to Get to Pack Expo Las Vegas

Parking

The LVCC has large surface lots and a parking garage surrounding the complex. Expect to pay $15–25 per day during major shows. Lots fill up fast — arrive before 9 AM or consider rideshare instead.

Rideshare (Uber / Lyft)

Uber and Lyft have a designated pickup and dropoff area on Convention Center Drive. Surge pricing is common during morning arrivals and evening departures — stagger your schedule to avoid the rush.

Public Transit / Monorail

The Las Vegas Monorail has a dedicated Convention Center station with direct service to Strip hotels from MGM Grand to the Sahara. A single ride is $5 and a full-day pass is $13. During peak convention hours the monorail is often faster than driving.

Walking from the Strip

The north end of the Las Vegas Strip is about a 15-minute walk from the LVCC. The monorail makes it easy to reach central and south Strip hotels in under 10 minutes.

Vegas After Hours

Nightlife During Pack Expo Las Vegas

When 30,000 trade show attendees descend on Las Vegas for Pack Expo Las Vegas, the nightlife scene shifts into a higher gear. The Strip's biggest clubs extend their lineups, book marquee DJs, and host industry-specific after-parties to capture the surge. Expect longer peak hours, busier dance floors, and an electric atmosphere that feeds off the energy of the trade show crowd. Whether your group is celebrating a successful day of meetings or just looking to unwind, you will find every style of nightlife within minutes of your hotel.

Convention weeks create a unique dynamic in Vegas. The typical weekend tourist crowd blends with professionals who are in town on expense accounts and looking to make the most of their evenings. Bottle service tables sell out faster than usual, especially at venues like XS, OMNIA, and Marquee. If VIP seating is on your radar, booking early is strongly recommended. For everyone else, the guest list is the smartest move — it guarantees free entry and lets you skip the general-admission line that grows significantly during major trade show weeks.

The best part of going out during Pack Expo Las Vegas is the social element. You will run into colleagues, competitors, and new contacts on the dance floor. Some of the most productive conversations at any convention happen after midnight over cocktails, not on the show floor. Strip clubs like Sapphire and Crazy Horse III are also extremely popular with convention groups — free guest list from your hotel and no cover through our guest list make it an easy choice for groups of any size.

After the Show

Pack Expo Las Vegas After Dark — Nightlife Picks

After a day evaluating packaging lines and comparing machinery specs, Las Vegas delivers a different kind of experience — and the Pack Expo professional crowd takes full advantage. The LVCC's position near the north end of the Strip and adjacent to Resorts World gives attendees immediate access to world-class dining, nightclubs, and entertainment without long commutes. For dining, Resorts World Las Vegas (a 10-minute walk from the LVCC or a quick rideshare) has become the go-to hub for Pack Expo dinners. Carversteak at Resorts World is consistently rated among the best upscale steakhouses in Las Vegas and is the top choice for client entertainment and supplier dinners during the show. Genting Palace at Resorts World is the Chinese fine dining option for international attendees and buyers. The casual restaurant options throughout Resorts World work well for larger group meals with walk-in flexibility. One monorail stop south, Wynn Las Vegas brings SW Steakhouse, Jardin, and Tableau to the equation — all worth booking in advance for the full show week. Nightlife during Pack Expo runs on a mid-week professional schedule. Monday evening is the most relaxed — use it for team dinners and catch-up with distributor contacts. Tuesday evening is the peak social night as the full attendee base is present and corporate entertainment budgets are in play. Wednesday's short day (floor closes at 3:00 PM) makes Wednesday afternoon a natural window for pool parties or early cocktail hours before dinner. Zouk Nightclub at Resorts World (steps from the LVCC) is the most convenient large-format nightclub and runs strong mid-week bookings in September. XS at Wynn (one monorail stop) is the premium choice for groups who want the best production quality in Las Vegas. September pool parties are still active during Pack Expo week — Encore Beach Club at Wynn is one of the best warm-weather afternoon experiences in Las Vegas and the September crowd is thinner and more accessible than peak-summer weekends. NoCoverVegas provides free guest list access to all major nightclubs, pool parties, and gentlemen's clubs during Pack Expo week.

Make the Most of Your Trip

Insider Tips for Pack Expo Las Vegas Attendees

Balance Your Schedule

Convention days are long and draining. If you plan to go out at night, map out which sessions and booths are must-sees so you can leave the show floor by late afternoon. A short break at your hotel between the trade show and dinner makes a massive difference in your energy level for the evening ahead.

Pick the Right Nights

The first night of Pack Expo Las Vegas is usually the wildest — everyone has just arrived and the excitement is high. The final night tends to be more relaxed as attendees pack and prepare for early flights. For the best club lineups, Friday and Saturday nights always deliver regardless of the convention calendar.

Recovery Game Plan

Hydration is everything in the desert. Keep a water bottle on you during the trade show and match every cocktail with a glass of water at night. Order room service breakfast or grab a quick bite at your hotel before heading to the venue — skipping breakfast after a late night is a recipe for a miserable afternoon on the show floor.

Book as a Group

Heading out with colleagues or clients? Larger groups get better treatment at every venue in Las Vegas. When you sign up for the guest list, include your full group count so we can arrange a ride that fits everyone and ensure your party walks in together. Groups of six or more can often request reserved seating at no extra cost.

Pool Parties During Pack Expo Las Vegas

Convention sessions typically wrap by 5 PM. That leaves the perfect window for a pool party before dinner. Las Vegas dayclubs operate March through October with free guest list entry — a popular choice for networking or blowing off steam after a full day of sessions and exhibits.
